Replacing the floors.

Who ever had the insane idea to put white carpet inside boats in the 90s really should have their heads examined.  While it looks pretty when new and clean, lets face it, it will become dirty in a nanosecond and you have to spend hours just trying to keep it clean.  No fun.

So when we got this boat we decided the carpet would have to go.  It was almost two years later but I finally pulled up all of the old carpet and the little bit of wood in the galley and replaced it with Bamboo planks.  I put in a new sub-floor and then floated the planks over it.  Except for the hatches which are glued down.  We then bought some galley rugs with rubber backs to use in the galley, on the steps to the cockpit, and each stateroom.  We purchased a large version of the same rug and had it cut and bound to fit the salon.  At the same time I replaced the carpeted steps on either side of the master state room queen bed, the carpet under the salon seating and put some carpet in each of the window sills to finish it out.

Lucky for me I have an interior designer wife to help pick out all these colors.

Here are some before pictures.

Here are some during the renovation pictures

And finally the AFTER pics
