Other smaller projects including:
  • Replacement of the Galley Refrigerator
  • Rehab of the generator space
  • Flushing Valve Installation
  • Battery Charger Replacement\
  • Cockpit Refrigerator replacement
  • Washer/Dryer removal before and after pictures

Replacement of the Galley Refrigerator
I actually did this task twice.  The one in the boat when we bought it worked but about a year and a half later just quit.  I found a used one for $100 to put in the hole while I decided what I wanted to do.  By the next season that one was not holding temp.  In addition it seemed to use an enormous amount of electricity.  Especially on 110v.  So we finally replaced it with a new one.  The reason we were holding off is that the new Norcold units are not quite the same.  We had fancy door covers on the old one that would not longer work on the new units so we had to leave them off.  As it turns out, it looks better without them.

The Generator space before and after
On Trojans, water runs in the truck space and leaches down to the generator space.  There is a drain that must be kept clear and this space must be maintained (painted) or the above picture results.  With the repairs made it is good as new

Installation of Flushing valves for the thru-hull fresh water systems

A T was added to the GenSet and A/C Fresh water intake in order to flush those units.  Quick Flush Valves were added to both motors and can also be used as emergency pumps in the event of hull breach.
The 1997 battery charger was replaced with a modern multi stage charger
A Xantrex TrueCharge 2 40w 3 bank charging unit replaced the original equipment unit in 2011.  This also has a battery temperature sensor and system/battery remote control and monitor in the saloon.

We replaced the handles on the cockpit doors for purely cosmetic reasons.  The brushed stainless looks so much better
